I've built two layout boats for duck hunting. i substituted 1x6 for the 2x6 lumber called for in the plans on the 44 inch ribs, and used a stitch and glue sealing technique to strengthen the frame. it has trouble getting through that. i have a fishing camp in the salt marsh and use now use the electric boat for some duck hunting there.
